About Walan Miya
Walan Miya is a private Registered Training Organisation accredited with ASQA and a NSW Smart and Skilled provider. We deliver traineeships, apprenticeships, short courses, full qualifications, and fee-for-service training across NSW, all leading to industry-recognised vocational qualifications. Our approach is simple: flexible training that works for you.
We take the time to understand your skill gaps and objectives, then create customised training plans that deliver real results. Whether you’re an employer, apprentice, trainee or existing worker, we work closely with you to design practical programs that develop highly competent graduates.
Walan and Miya are Wiradjuri words meaning “strong together.” The Wiradjuri are the largest Aboriginal group in New South Wales, with deep connections to the central plains west of the Blue Mountains. Our name reflects our commitment to building strong relationships with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities alike.
We believe in the power of working together to create sustainable economic and social opportunities through training and employment. By honouring this partnership, we aim to contribute meaningfully to communities across New South Wales—because there is true strength in unity.
Our commitment to Aboriginal communities goes beyond words—it’s reflected in our outcomes. In 2024, we trained 314 Indigenous full qualification students in NSW, representing 60% of all Indigenous full qualification students in the state (NSW Smart and Skilled data).
