Our Options for Job Training
Walan Miya has flexible job training options for you including short courses and full qualifications
Are you looking for a full qualification job training course in local government, construction or conservation and land management?
Wondering what job training you need to get into a certain industry?
Are you keen on an apprenticeship or traineeship program?
Still at school and wondering what school-based job training options are available?
We can help you
Under our NSW Smart and Skilled contract we create and deliver accredited, fee funded training courses throughout NSW.
No matter where you live and work, we can create flexible training delivery for you. It might be a combination of online and face to face training depending on where you are. We’ll make it work for you.
You might be eligible for full or partial funding depending on the criteria for a course and your personal circumstances.
Our short courses give you units of competency you can include on your resume right away or put towards a full qualification down the track.
If it’s an apprenticeship or traineeship you’re after, find the trade or job you want to do, then talk to Walan Miya about making it happen.
Apprenticeships and traineeships combine work-based training with an employer, and formal training from a training provider. They’re established under training contracts between the employer and the apprentice or trainee and regulated by government. They’re a great way to be paid for work while you learn and earn a qualification.
And if you’re still at school and thinking of a trade-based career, you can get started with a school-based apprenticeship or a traineeship while you’re still at school. You can combine paid work, training and school; and as well as an industry-recognised national qualification you will get credit towards the HSC.
Walan Miya acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, to the Elders past, present, and emerging.
